is a publicly-funded provider of behavioral health, developmental disability and addictive disease services for Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton counties.

Athens Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH) was created for the purpose of identifying gaps in the current array of homeless services for Athens-Clarke County and developing and implementing programming to fill these gaps through opportunities afforded by the Navy Supply Corps School Base Reuse Plan.

Athens Land Trust promotes quality of life through integration of community and the natural
environment by preserving land, creating energy-efficient and affordable housing, and revitalizing neighborhoods.


Axiom Student Mall exists to provide student culture in Jackson County by providing a space for students to engage in culture, entertainment, and community.

The Bigger Vision of Athens provides the individual who is temporarily homeless a warm, dry place to sleep each night on a first-come, first-served basis, by providing assistance as needed to help each person get back on their feet.

BikeAthens promotes transportation and land-use policies that improve alternative modes of transportation, including pedestrian, cycling, and public transit options.

East Athens Development Corporation empower residents and businesses through economic revitalization and direct public-private partnership initiatives for human services, low-income affordable housing and development.

Free IT Athensgoal is to provide access to information technology resources to Athens-Clarke County residents and organizations.

Greene County Family Connection Commission serves as the local decision-making body, bringing community partners together to develop, implement, and evaluate plans that address the serious challenges facing Georgia’s children and families.

Jackson County Family Connection is a collaborative organization that links businesses, agencies and clitizens together for the betterment of children and families in Jackson County.

The Light Homeless Shelter was created to provide emergency shelter services for adults 18 years and older by providing shelter, food, life skills and job training in a clean and safe environment.

Penfield Christian Homes is a Christian recovery program for reclaiming the lives of adult men suffering from addiction to drugs and alcohol.

Piedmont CASA recruits, trains and supervises volunteers who provide a voice for foster children in Juvenile Court in Barrow, Jackson, and Banks counties.

Project Adam is a non-profit community assistance center established in 1980 by a group of ministers trained in the areas of alcohol and drug prevention, early identification, intervention and referral.

The Salvation Army of Athens provides food for the hungry, companionship to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, opportunities for underprivileged children, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled and many more services to assist those in need.

Total Community Outreach provides assistance with the basics needed by individuals and families in Greene County by providing food boxes, short-term housing, and furniture/appliances, along with providing support in finding help for whatever their "next step" might be.

Winder-Barrow Coalition for Adult and Continuing Education secure and promote adult and continuing education opportunities for the residents of Barrow County in order to increase literacy levels, job advancement opportunities and quality of life for Barrow County citizens.

Multiple Choices Center for Independent Living breaks down all barriers to inclusion by enhancing the equality of life and empowering people with disabilities through advocacy, education and training.
